French Toast with Apples

Ingredients

24 slices of French bread (3/4 inch thick)

8 ounces cream cheese

3 fresh apples, sliced

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup butter

1/3 cup syrup

3 large eggs

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 ° F. Place slices of bread in a pan or baking dish. Spread each slice of bread with butter on both sides.

2Coat with a layer of cream cheese on top and place apple slices on top to cover the bread.

3Mix the nuts and remaining ingredients and spread the mixture over the bread.

4Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bread is no longer moist and the edges have toasted.
